Biography
Chris Close is a highly established UK based freelance photographer specialising in location work and portraiture. His principal work is for advertising, editorial and design clients.

He was born and grew up in the 'Auld Grey Toon' of St Andrews and educated in Dundee, the city of 'Jute Jam and Journalism' before travelling to the 'Big Smoke', aka, London, to study for a degree in Photographic Sciences. He returned to Glasgow - the 'Dear Green Place' to finish a postgraduate in Marketing before heading east for Edinburgh 'Auld Reekie' aka the Athens of the North. He is principally based here but also has a base in London.
Chris completed a well received exhibition of portraits of authors from the 2009 Edinburgh International Book Festival. Unlike most exhibitions this was constantly evolving as new work was shot and hung the next day. More recently he has shot two of rocks wild men namely John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten former front man of The Sex Pistols and Liam Gallagher former front man to Oasis.
Chris was a former chair of the Association of Photographers (Scotland) and sat on a cross political steering group dedicated to establishing the first major photography centre in Scotland (SNPC).
Two of his portraits are held by the National Galleries of Scotland Collection.
