Ruth has been an established portrait photographer for many years. After beginning her training with catwalk photographer Niall McInerney she moved on to an 8 year position as first assistant to high profile portraitist Trevor Leighton. Her work experience was firmly rooted in the traditional disciplines of classic photography, assisting Trevor in printing a substantial amount of his work, many of which can be seen hanging in the National Portrait Gallery.
Ruth became side tracked for a number of years into a successful career in film production, working on many leading international advertising campaigns.
However, after the birth of her daughter, she decided to revive her passion for portraiture and re-connect with her photographic roots. 
Once trading under her own name, Ruth received commissions from actors, comedians, production companies,        commercial and editorial clients, this has steadily grown to a loyal following.
Ruth has shared use of a versatile studio in Highbury, London N5.
